The Train Ride

Our learning has been based around the story 'The Train Ride' written by June Crebbin. The children have enjoyed listening to the story all about a little girl who goes on a train journey to the seaside to see her grandma. The children have been exploring pattern and have learnt to create repeating patterns. They have made their very own train from junk which look amazing and have been building their own train tracks with the 'Small World' equipment. The children had great fun building bridges from small and large construction, they put their problem solving skills to good use! We have also been learning simple train songs to sing.
