The Queen's Hat

The learning this week has been planned around the story 'The Queen's Hat' written by Steve Antony. The children have loved listening to the story all about the city of London. The children have been learning the names of the different landmarks and especially enjoyed going on a walk around the garden spotting the photographs of these landmarks. The children had fun trying on different hats and looking at themselves in the mirror. In the classroom they were introduced to the 'numicon' and created castles with this mathematical resource. They had fun looking at the animals in our own 'London Zoo' in the small world area and got creative making crowns to wear for the tea party we had to complete the week.
