We are pleased to announce we have achieved ...
We have held this award for many years. We promote healthy eating and ways of keeping fit throughout our curricular and extra curricular activities.
Our school meals are excellent. Our cook prepares all our meals on the premises every day and we are working with our parents to encourage healthy lunch boxes too. We like to invite our parents to come and enjoy a school lunch with their child throughout the Spring and Summer terms. We hold a “Health Week” every year to focus on health issues in a fun and practical way.
To keep fit we do “Wake up, Shake up” each day in the classrooms, which are fun exercises to music. As well as our P.E. lessons we do lots of exercise at play times and lunchtimes.
HEALTH FOR LIFE AWARD
In January 2015, the teachers and children at Hall Green Infants worked hard to achieve the Health For Life Award. Teachers and children attended a ceremony for the award on Tuesday 27th January 2015, at the Council House in Victoria Square.
The Award focused specifically on four main areas:
Our wonderful school already does a lot in these areas to help achieve this award but we used some extra funding given to us to help develop these areas and provide more opportunities for our children. Some of the work done to achieve this award includes providing growing and cooking clubs, buying new cooking equipment and installing a drinking fountain. We also improved the facilities for children in our school playground and developing out school kitchen garden.
This award once given it is held by the school for life but we will continue to work with the children, families and community to maintain our healthy practice and make improvements in order to provide the best for our pupils.
