Bear Snores on

Our play and exploration this week has been based around the story 'Bear Snores On' by Karma Wilson. Through play the children have become aware of different types of bear and their habitats. The children had fun playing with the polar bears in the water tray, exploring the ice and made places for the brown bears to hide in the forest.

The children have become familiar with the dice and practised counting the spots and finding the matching amounts on the bears. In Literacy the children have enjoyed thinking about different places to sleep and have recorded their thoughts through their mark making. On Friday we had popcorn as a special snack, like the animals in the story. We made a pretend fire and listened carefully to the sounds we could hear.
