Forest School Trip

Today we went on our second forest school trip to Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens. It was an enriching experience with a host of new activities for us to explore and enjoy. The activities offered hands-on learning opportunities in a beautiful natural setting, fostering creativity, teamwork, and a love for nature. We had the best time learning and playing in the unique outdoor environment, what a fun trip!

Word Play Festival

This week we met 3 authors during Word Play Festival. It was very exciting to meet authors in real life! We took part in engaging workshops about the authors books to inspire reading for pleasure. The interactive workshops involved poetry, illustration, and storytelling. We also completed some further Word Play activities in class. At the end of the week, we got to take home a Word Play magazine.

Guru Nanak Gurdwara

Today we visited a Gurdwara, where Sikhs go to pray and worship. This visit supported our learning about different places of worship. We found out about how Sikhs greet one another and looked at the different features of a Gurdwara. We spoke about how Sikhs pray and learnt all about their religion.

Eid Fair

Today we wore our traditional clothing to celebrate Eid. We went to the Eid fair and played games, bought balloons, had henna, face painting and tattoos done, and took part in the cup raffle.

Vocabulary Parade

To promote Oracy in school and help create language-rich classrooms, we hosted a vocabulary parade at school. It was a fun way to celebrate our love of wonderful words and varied vocabulary. We wore outfits to represent our words and displayed what we dressed up as by having a sign around our necks or a hat with the word on. We had an assembly in the hall and a parade with the whole school in the playground. Miss Khan and the Oracy Champions chose the most creative of costumes and we all got a certificate to take home.
