Spring 2

Nature in Art Museum

We had an amazing visit to the Nature in Art museum. The Squirrels were full of inspiration after exploring the incredible artwork on display. They loved strolling through the gardens and admiring the imaginative sculptures. Their favourites were the black panther carved from wood and the peacock crafted from horseshoes.

The foam and wire workshops were phenomenal. The children created their own marbled artwork using paint and foam, and in the wire workshop they designed and made beautiful butterflies. We also had the chance to visit the art studio and talk with a French artist, which was a truly inspiring experience. The children asked thoughtful and insightful questions throughout the day.

What a fantastic experience it was!

World Book Day

World Book Day was a fantastic celebration! A huge thank you to all the adults for their support – the children looked wonderful in their costumes.

Our day began with an assembly led by Mrs Thompson, who shared her favourite story, I Don’t Like Peas, with us. It was a great way to start our World Book Day celebrations.

The children designed bookmarks for the KS1 competition, and the entries were incredibly creative and impressive. They also made missing posters for Iggy the Iguana from Pia’s Pet Club, which were lots of fun to create.

In the afternoon, we enjoyed walking around the school to look at the amazing story boxes and all the World Book Day themed activities taking place in different classes. The children really loved seeing everyone’s ideas.

Finally, a big well done to all the children who created a story box. They looked fantastic, and I’m sure the judges had a very difficult job choosing the top three winners!

Happy World Book day :)

Well done to our winners for the story boxes πŸ…πŸ₯‡πŸ₯ˆπŸ₯‰πŸ‘

Big Yellow Day

On Yellow Day, we raised money for the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation. Every year our school marks this special day to raise awareness for the charity and to honour the memory of a former pupil, Imaan, who attended Hall Green Infant School.

This day is very meaningful for our school community as we come together to remember and pay tribute to her. Each class made yellow ornaments which were placed on Imaan’s memorial tree by the wellbeing leaders and Imaan’s mother.

Eid

We had a fantastic Eid celebration at school! The children looked amazing in their traditional outfits and fully enjoyed the festive atmosphere. They loved making Eid cards for their families and had a great time at the afternoon party.

We hope all our families who celebrated had a joyful and blessed Eid!

World Water Day

World Water Day began with an incredibly informative assembly led by our UNICEF Ambassadors and Eco Warriors. We learned about the importance of using water wisely and the impact of wasting it. We also explored how, in some countries, children and adults must travel long distances to access water, which helped us appreciate how fortunate we are to have running water readily available.

The children came dressed in blue and created wonderful posters to mark the day. We also made donations to help raise funds for a water pump in a less fortunate country.

Happy Easter!

An eggcellent end to our term—Happy Easter! It was amazing to see all the wonderful Easter bonnets. Thank you to our families for the incredible effort put into creating them; the fine details, lights, and glitter made them truly special.

The children had the chance to showcase their bonnets in a whole-school assembly, where we also enjoyed singing fun Easter songs.

We wish all our families a very Happy Easter—have a restful and enjoyable break!
