Autumn Term

2ND had a fun Christmas party to finish off the term! We played party games, danced to music, did Christmas colouring and activities, had a picnic in our classroom and gave out cards and presents!

Art Week: We had lots of fun this week including Art in lots of our lessons. We spent time learning new skills and making wonderful creations based on the show of The Snow Queen that we watched at the beginning of the week.

DEAR: Drop Everything And Read - 2ND took part in our DEAR initiative this week, stopped what we were doing and had a great 10 minutes of reading for pleasure in the middle of the afternoon. We loved it!

We've been working really hard on our Diorama Habitat Homework for Science the past few weeks, and they've all turned out amazingly! We also enjoyed looking at all the other diorama's that the rest of Year 2 had worked really hard to make.

2ND visited St Peters church today! We learnt all about the different parts of Church life, Christian traditions and had great fun exploring the church taking part in fun activities.

Blue Review Day: 2ND spent the day going over some of the things we had learnt in History, Science and DT last term! We had a great time and showed just how much we had learnt and remembered.

Today we came to school in brightly coloured clothes to show our support for Children in Need. We really enjoyed colouring in our own Pudsey Bear and using dots to make our pictures. We also learnt about why Children in Need is so important.

Today we took part in a STEM workshop with Aston Villa FC. We had to programme a robot ball using ipads. We had to use commands and make sure we directed accurately to complete a series of challenges!

We celebrated Diwali by making cards, discussing the story of Diwali and having a party!
