Welcome to Squirrels Class!
We had a wonderful first week in Squirrels Class. The children looked sharp in their green uniforms and were eager to learn.
In Week 1, we focused on learning behaviours and collaborated to construct the tallest tower we could. We had to be really careful our towers stayed still and steady.
Here’s a glimpse into our DT lessons! During the Autumn Term in Squirrels Class, we’re learning all about bread—from planting wheat to milling it into flour and using it for baking. The children had the chance to make their own bread, culminating in the exciting task of preparing sandwiches as the final product.
It was Care For Your Bear Day at Hall Green Infants School! The children came in their regular clothes and brought along a special visitor to join the festivities. We had a wonderful time with various activities, including word searches, coloring, and arts and crafts to create our own bears. We also enjoyed reading and sharing stories with our friends!
A massive thank you to all the parents who joined us for the Year 1 Phonics Workshop on Thursday, 21st November 2024. We had a fantastic turnout, and the children had a great time! Resources were sent home as part of a homework pack so parents can continue to support their child's learning from home.
Year 1 hosted their Christmas Concert today, delighting a large audience of parents with their wonderful performances. They did an outstanding job, singing with full enthusiasm and heart. There were a few tears at the end as some children were reluctant to say goodbye to their parents, but they quickly bounced back and were all smiles afterwards.
