Today the children created their class charter. To do this, they learnt about the ABCDE of rights and we discussed that all children have rights. The children then explored a range of rights and decided which ones were the most important to them as a class to help form a class charter.
Care for your Bear Day
The children brought into school their favourite teddy to look after for the day. This was linked to our value ‘caring’. They also brought in a donation of £1 to go to a charity called ‘Teddy Trust’. The Teddy Trust collects teddiws and soft cuddly toys from children around trhe UK and sends them to children who are less fortunate, such as children suffering the traumas of war or neglect. We had great fun spending the day with our teddies. They joined us for Phonics, Maths and even lunchtime!

D.T. Fire Engine Challenge Workshop.
Today, the children participated in a Design and Technology Workshop linked to their work on the Great Fire of London. The aim of the workshop was to design and make a fire engine with a moving part which would help King Charles II to prevent a future fire! Parents and children thoroughly enjoyed the day!
Arts Week
The theme for ‘Arts week’ was ‘shape and ‘colour’. The children began the week by creating Diwali cards by decorating divas with bright colours.
Next, the children investigated how to make secondary colours using primary colours. They made different shades of purple, green and orange. After that, the children created Rangoli Patterns using only secondary colours.
We drew some shapes, free hand, to create a Rangoli Pattern. We mixed primary colours to make different shades of secondary colours.
