We made our very own lion masks that looked just like Leonard after reading a book called ‘How to be a lion’. We then took part in a drama activity where we retold the story using our masks. Take a look at our masks.
To raise awareness of 'World Mental Health Day' we came to school wearing something ‘bright’ or ‘sparkly’. We brought in £1 to raise money for the mental health charity ‘Mind’ and for the school to purchase some wellbeing resources. In the afternoon, we talked mental health and who we can go to for help. We read a story about a mouse who wasn’t very good at everything. We talked about how this was ok and we discussed what we were good at. We decorated mirrors and wrote down what we are good at and what we like about ourselves. We also did some yoga and talked about how it can help us. We finally had some ‘well-being’ time where we chose our own activities. We did some colouring and played with Lego.
We enjoyed reading a book called 'Ruby's Worry'. We discussed what we should do if we have any worries and then the most exciting and fun part was designing our own worry jars using ICT. We then used clay to make our worry jars.
