You Asked - We Did!

Our parent voice is taken seriously and plays part in how we shape our school as a whole, from policy and procedure to ethos and curriculum.  Our parent steering group, workshop feedback, questionnaires and on-the-door discussions are all ways that our parents' voices are heard and actioned on.  Below are some of the key issues raised and how they have been actioned.

Parent Workshops - You asked for more opportunities to come into school. the parent steering group worked with our Senior Leadership Team to map out workshops across the school year.

Each year group now runs at least 2 curriculum workshops throughout as well as the annual Welcome & Meet the teacher meetings which were very well attended this year and will be run at the start of each year.

Coffee Mornings - You asked for more informal gatherings for parents in school

We will now run additional Meet and Greet coffee mornings where parents can come and talk with SLT on any subject or just come to meet other parents.  We also run various parent coffee mornings during the year as a chance for parents to meet with our school team and raise morning for charity.

Online Booking - You asked for better systems for booking parents' evenings and clubs

We have invested in an online system to support this for parents.  The feedback has been very positive so far!

Parents Evenings - In our Post-COVID Questionnaire some parents asked to keep online parents' evening

We have now moved to a choice of Face to Face meetings or Telephone meetings.  This has proved very successful over this last year and we will be offering this again for the upcoming years.

Home Communication - Parents requested additional ways to share messages from school. We now give out fortnightly Class Bulletins with key messages from class teachers. This is given out on the alternative week to our newsletter to ensure weekly communication.

Breakfast Club - A small number of parents had expressed an interest in a before school club. We were successful in applying to take part in the governments trial for school breakfast club. This will begin in April for our school and roll out across the country the following year.
