Aspirations Week
Aspirations Week got off to a fantastic start! The adults thoroughly enjoyed the workshop, connecting with their children and setting goals as a family. It was wonderful to hear all the conversations about what the children want to be when they grow up. I was inspired by a room full of children with so much passion, all aspiring to achieve amazing things in the future.
In our PSHRE lessons, we explored the importance and value of money, which provided the children with excellent practical knowledge. Year 1 were especially lucky to meet a range of professionals, including a car engineer, a medical student, and a lawyer. The children asked thoughtful and fascinating questions, gaining valuable insights about the wider world.
Sparkle and Shine Week
It was a week full of sparkles and pure magic! The week began with a fantastic assembly led by our wellbeing leaders, setting the tone for Mindful Monday, where we read the beautiful story Rainbow of Emotions. The children learned that it’s okay to experience a range of emotions and that recognising them is important.
Thankful Tuesday followed, with the children creating heartfelt thank-you cards for someone special. It was so heart warming to hear the thoughtful reasons behind their messages. On Wellbeing Wednesday, the children enjoyed making friendship bracelets for the sale—they had so much fun!
Thriving Thursday focused on physical health, with activities including cosmic yoga and Cookie Monster meditation, keeping the children active and engaged. Finally, on Feel Good Friday, the children looked fantastic in their sparkly outfits and had a wonderful time buying items from the sale.
It was truly a week filled with joy, creativity, and memorable moments that we will never forget!
Vocabulary Day
A day full of inspiring vocabulary was exactly what we needed! I was so impressed with the creative words and outfits that Squirrel Class chose. They looked brilliant and truly celebrated the richness of the English language. The children thoroughly enjoyed the parade, proudly showcasing their chosen words to everyone.
Oracy Workshop
Oracy is a big part of our school, and it was wonderful to bring our adults along on this journey. I hope I was able to inspire them to see the importance of language and how it can support our children’s development. Both the adults and children enjoyed the variety of activities, giving everyone the opportunity to explore and celebrate language in meaningful ways.
Number Day
Squirrel Class had an amazing time on Number Day! I was so impressed with the creative outfits the children wore—they left me speechless. A huge thank you to our adults for all the fantastic ideas and support. The children enjoyed a day packed with maths, filled with real mathematical fun!
We were also very lucky to have a Magical Maths workshop, where the children played an exciting game of shape bingo. What a brilliant way to end our week!
Working with an artist
This week, Year 1 and Year 2 enjoyed the exciting opportunity to work with a renowned artist named William, who specialises in creating sculptures from chicken wire. The children had a wonderful time collaborating with him to build sculptures of our learning behaviour dinosaurs. We’ve had a small preview, and they look absolutely amazing. We are very much looking forward to sharing the finished pieces with you!
PJ Party & Bedtime Story
Daytime Sleepover
We thoroughly enjoyed our daytime sleepover with the children. Everyone looked so cosy in their pyjamas, cuddled up with their favourite teddies and warm, fluffy blankets. We had a special day filled with exciting activities.
The children created their very own perfect bedtime stories, which were incredibly creative and imaginative. Later, they designed their own pillowcases and had the opportunity to decorate them using special fabric markers.
In the afternoon, we welcomed our parents and enjoyed reading for pleasure together, using fairy lights and torches to create a cosy atmosphere. We also treated ourselves to a delicious cup of chocolate milk.
Thank you to all the adults who joined us for our special story time!
