At Hall Green Infant School, we are proud to partner with Sports for Champions UK, a national initiative that brings professional athletes into schools to inspire children, promote healthy lifestyles, and support athletes in their training and competition journeys. Sports for Champions works with Olympians, Paralympians, and elite sports professionals who visit schools to lead fitness circuits and deliver motivational assemblies that encourage children to believe in themselves, work hard, and stay active.
The programme also helps raise valuable funds that support both schools and the athletes themselves. These funds contribute to essential training, medical needs, travel, and competition costs for athletes—many of whom rely on this support to continue representing Great Britain on the world stage.
By being part of this programme, our children gain the unique opportunity to meet real athletes, hear their stories, and discover the importance of determination, positive mental health, and living an active life. This aligns with our school values and supports our whole‑school commitment to promoting a Healthy Mind, Healthy Body culture.
Sports for Champions visits, like our recent workshop with Team GB Rugby Sevens captain Abbie Brown, leave a lasting impact on our pupils—motivating them to stay active, try new challenges, and develop confidence in their abilities.
