Botanical Gardens

Otters Class had a fantastic trip to the Botanical Gardens in Edgbaston.

We began our adventure by meeting some amazing animals, including a giant snail named Kevin, a bearded dragon, a skink, a stick insect, a cockroach, and even a snake!

Next, we explored the glasshouses, using our clipboards to spot and tick off a variety of plants. We discovered tropical and desert plants, admired some stunning flowers in bloom, and even spotted fruit trees growing green bananas and citrons!

In the afternoon, we took part in an exciting plant workshop. We learnt about the different parts of a plant and what they need to grow. To help us understand pollination, some of us even dressed up as a bee and two flowers to act out how pollen moves from plant to plant.

It was a fun and educational day full of discovery and nature!
