Birthdays

As an early years provider we have to follow the new Government legislation about food for young children. This legislation promotes healthy eating in school.  Part of the legislation is about birthdays and how they are celebrated in school.

We understand that when a child is celebrating their birthday they like to bring sweets and cakes to share with their friends. Unfortunately, teachers will no longer be able to hand out sweet treats in the classroom. We understand children love to celebrate with their friends and we will ensure that we celebrate children’s birthdays in school through singing the ‘Happy Birthday’ song. We are more than happy for them to bring in non-edible options such as bubbles, stickers or other party bag toys for them to share with their class mates.
