Spring 1

This half term we are going to focus on Article 14 and Article 30.

Article 14 - Every child has the right to think and believe what they choose and also to practise their religion, as long as they are not stopping other people from enjoying their rights. Governments must respect the rights and responsibilities of parents to guide their child as they grow up.

Article 30 - Every child has the right to learn and use the language, customs and religion of their family whether or not these are shared by the majority of the people in the country where they live.

Activities

We would love you to complete an activity so you can show us that you have been learning about your rights. Remember to send a photo of your work to the school office email address so we can share your fabulous work with everyone else.

Activity 1 : Religious buildings. Religious people have buildings that are important to them and their religion. Think of and draw a building that is important to you or make a 3D model of this building using things that you can find around the house (old cereal box, empty toilet roll etc). This could be a religious building like a church or a temple, or even a school or a library. Write some sentences explaining why it is important to you.

Activity 2: Traditional dance. Do you know any traditional dances? Research some safely online or ask an adult in your house to teach you if they know one. Get an adult to record you dancing to the music doing the traditional dance. Don't forget to send it to the office so we can share your video below for others to see.

Have a look at some of our work!
