Magnificent Mural

School Council decided they wanted a mural painted on the wall in the playground to brighten it up. They wanted it to represent our school aspirations. They decided to hold a competition for KS1 to help us design a mural for the playground. The children worked hard to draw symbols to represent each of the aspirations.

School council then worked with Miss Barguss to choose the best symbols to add into our mural. We created a mood board with those designs and other murals that we liked the look of.

We sent our designs off to Sue Guthrie, the artist and she put all of our ideas together and designed a mural.

While Sue was working on the mural, KS1 went outside and watched Sue paint some of the mural. While they were watching they drew the mural into their art books. Some of School Council were asked by Sue to help her paint part of the mural using stencils.

Sue did a fantastic job of recreating all of our designs and the children love what she has created.
