Eid celebrations!
One our return to school we learnt about the scientist Mae Jemison. We had a go at making our own space rockets and portholes.
Christmas Celebrations
Art
In Art we have been looking at the artist Karla Gerard. We loved her colourful style of art! Take a look at an example below:
We then had a go at making our own Karla Gerard inspired artwork, creating spaces and lines on paper using oil pastels and the painting in the spaces using the water wash technique. Mrs Mehboob and Mrs Hayre were so proud of our work!
Christmas Jumper Day
DT Sandwich Making, we learnt about the fascinating process of how bread is made, packaged and delivered to shops! We then had a go at making our own healthy sandwiches. We learnt about food safety, skills such as slicing and spreading and enjoyed eating our tasty sandwiches at the end!
Remembrance Day
We learnt all about Remembrance Day and why it is important to people today and make sure we had a 2 minute silence at 11am. We then looked at why poppies are sold in the UK. We watched the following clip:

We then had a go at decorating our poppies!
Friendship Week
We spent the week discussing what friendship is, why it is important and how we can be good friend! Children have also been using our friendship stop!
Diwali
We learnt the story of Diwali and how it celebrated across the world. We loved the beautiful Rangoli patterns and had a go at making our own!
Children's Rights Day
Our UNICEF ambassador spoke to the rest of the class about children's rights and how these should be celebrate!
