Year 2

Welcome to Year 2

A very warm welcome to Year 2's class page! This is where we include lots of exciting information about Year 2 including fantastic events the children have taken part in, such as school trips or visitors into school, and there is a section for each class, showing their individual class learning.  These pages are updated regularly, so please don't forget to check regularly for important information.

I am the Year Two Leader and am always at my classroom door in the mornings or after school if you need to see me.

We have an amazing team of  Teachers and Teaching Assistants in Year 2 who work incredibly hard to support and promote the welfare and learning of your children.  We are also a very friendly bunch and we are always happy to help! The first port of call will be the class teacher as they know your child well, but if you need anything further please feel free to speak to me.

Best Wishes

Miss Rachel Fildes, Year 2 Lead

Year 2 Indian Bazaar

Dear Parents,

On Thursday 12th December we will be holding an Indian Bazaar in the hall as part of our learning adventure. The children will be transported to an Indian market and will be given some rupees to buy traditional Indian items.

We are asking all children to dress up in traditional Indian clothing. They can come to school in this clothing and can wear it all day.

We are also asking if any parents have any spare fabrics/materials, Indian spices, decorations or cooking utensils could you please give them to your child’s teacher by Tuesday 9th December. They will be returned!

Thank you for your continued support.

Year Two team

Thank you to everyone who came to our writing and handwriting workshops this week! We hope you found the session useful and will take some ideas to use at home!

We have had an amazing two days at West Midlands Safari Park! Well done to all the children for behaving so brilliantly! Photos to follow :)  Have a great weekend

Everyone has settled brilliantly into Year 2 this week! We are all really proud of all of our classes and they are learning routines and expectations quickly. Tonight children should have come home with a guided reading book and spellings. To ease you all back into school life there will be no other homework set this week but please spend some time looking at both.

Have a lovely weekend!

Miss Fildes

12.07.19 - No homework this week but please keep practising songs, words and dances for our leavers assembly.

Reminder - Please bring clothes for the play into school on Monday.  We have dress rehearsals next week and want to be prepared. Don't worry about buying anything new just clothes that best match the colour of the animal your child is. Thanks

HEALTH WEEK HOMEWORK - Research your sporting hero. You can present your research however you like and they can be on anyone you like! Past or present! Young or old! Any sport that interests you!

New Spellings - First test 12.04.19

Thank you to everyone who attended the parent meetings today. For those who couldn't this is the information you missed. If anyone has any questions please speak to your class teacher or myself. Many thanks, Miss Fildes

We will be sending information home this week that lets you know which group your child is in for Reading and Maths. If your child's group changes we will send out another slip with the new groups on as they do change from time to time.

Dear Parents,

We have a number of children in Year Two who do not know their date of birth or how to spell their full name. This is a really important life skill and we will be working on this in school. We would be grateful if you could you also please practise at  home.

Many thanks.
