Letter Sound Practise

First you need to practise all the sounds you already know.

Remember to say each sound once and do the action.

You can choose to do either do Phase 2 Phonics (single sounds) or Phase 3 Phonics (digraphs) or both!

PHASE 2

Remember to use your robot arms to help you.

PHASE 3

Today we are learning the new digraph oo.

Tricky Witch makes the short oo sound. Say hello to Tricky Witch!

Tricky Witch casts a magic spell on the oo sound in words so it turns gold. It now makes a different sound. It changes from Cool Blue's long oo sound to a short oo sound (u).

Use PowerPoint below to practise reading and writing oo words.

Remember to use robot arms.

Now its time to read some sentences.

Remember to use your phonics to read each word and then go back to the beginning of the sentence each time.

Now it's time to write a sentence.

Read the sentence to your child.

Encourage them to count the number of words in the sentence and to use their phonics to help them spell each word in turn.

Don't forget to use finger spaces and a full stop.
