Staying safe when learning online

Online Safety – Helpful sites

 

The NSPCC have a free telephone helpline that parents can call (08088005002) if they want to talk to someone about online safety. The website also contains some helpful information about the latest apps, setting up parental controls and social networking behaviours.

Thinkuknow provide advice for parents regarding keeping children safe online. The website also has some specific advice for adoptive parents.

 

Get Safe Online have, amongst other things, some useful checklists to download which can be used for different age groups.  The link below is for children under 5.

The Safer Internet Centre website has up to date guidance on how you can support your child at home with internet safety.  It has links to information regarding games, apps and using the internet safely.  There are also activities and discussion pieces for you to use to start an online safety discussion with your child.  This link below will take you to the parent and Carers page.
