In these challenging times it is possibly more important than ever to keep ourselves physically active. Research shows that regular physical activity for children can: boost mood, raise self-esteem, help improve sleep quality, reduce stress levels, increase concentration, improve fitness levels, build a stronger heart, bones and muscles, and encourage healthy growth and development.
Without the regular routines of physical activity within the school day, it is important that children find opportunities to participate in a variety of different physical activities whilst learning from home. The government recommends that all primary school children participate in at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day. Please use the PE home learning page to find ideas of ways to engage your child in regular physical exercise. These ideas can be used to supplement the PE home learning set by your class teacher. You can use the suggested activities to form part of your weekly PE lessons, as well as using them as quick brain breaks throughout your days when completing the home learning.
