Check children’s prior knowledge on patterns with 2D shapes: https://www.topmarks.co.uk/ordering-and-sequencing/shape-patterns See presentation. This step stems from the non-statutory guidance within Place Value. Children use 2D and 3D shapes to complete and make simple patterns focusing on different shapes and sizes.

 

Main activity: Children to complete differentiated worksheets. Children to continue patterns and create their own patters.
