List Writing Lesson

In the lesson you will be writing a LIST.

Do you know what a list is? When do you need to write a list?

Remember each new idea in a list needs to be on a new line!

Read the the story of ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar' or click here to listen.

Listen carefully to the story and look at the illustrations.

Talk about the different foods that the caterpillar ate.

What are some of the your favourite foods?

Find the letter from the Butterfly! (It could be placed inside the back cover of the book.)

Read the letter – the Butterfly wants the children to help write a list of all the foods he ate to tell the other new baby caterpillars!

Look at the story pictures below and find the appropriate pictures as the foods are mentioned in the story. (Remember you could draw them rather than print them off)

Write a list of all the food he ate. Don't forget to use your phonics to help you.

Challenge yourself to add adjectives to describe the food.

You can print the resources below or simply write your list on a piece of paper.
