Learning and Growing Together at Home 2020-21
From March 2020- Summer 2021, during times of national lockdown or self-isolation, our home learning, created by teachers was used by not only our own parents and families but also by families from other schools!
Due to the popularity of our home learning and after numerous parental requests we have decided to keep this resource available for parental use as additional activities and support for families for evenings or the weekends.
Please feel free to use these resources. Phonics lessons were popular for supporting early reading and are all available for your use. We have kept the pages exactly the same so that parents can navigate the resources with ease.
The pages below are all about how we can support our Hall Green Infant & Nursery children together, whilst self-isolating or learning from home for any other reason.
It is important to maintain our children's progress and to provide them with broad and balanced learning. The home learning pages have been created by the teachers and will be updated with new activities on a weekly basis. Timetables with linked activities will be uploaded each Friday for the next week. These activities are flexible and parents are able to use them as guidance and support for home learning.
The teachers have tailored the activities to follow the learning which is appropriate for their year group. Within the weekly timetables, there are links to learning provided for each day. Some have learning powerpoints and written activities; some are games and some are activities that will give children an independent learning opportunity.
Along with timetables, there will be links to useful resources, websites, and learning platforms to support families and children with additional home learning.
We hope you enjoy all the activities in the home learning pages and are able to enjoy your learning together!
Home Learning 2020 - 2021
If your child is self-isolating at home or shielding please go into your year group page to see what work you can catch up on this week. To support you in choosing the correct learning please use the help sheets in your home learning pack (given to your child by school).
Inside the pack, you should find any passwords needed for your child to access their reading books and other learning platforms, their home learning exercise books, to write in when required, and a selection of printed activities if you don't have access to printing. Alongside this, if your whole class bubble is self-isolating and where your teacher is able please log onto your child's Teams storytime sessions. These sessions are in place to ensure your child maintains that live link with the school and their peers.
For any further support or help with home learning, please contact either the email for your teacher (provided in your child's home learning pack) or the school office.
Tailoring Your Home Learning to Suit You!
Home learning can be hard when you are faced with other pressures and time constraints.
Please be assured that the weekly timetables for learning are flexible. You do not need to do everything every day.
Create a timetable that suits your family's needs.
It is important to focus on Reading, Writing, Mathematics & Phonics but be creative with your time...tailor your home learning to suit your family life.
Following our Home Learning survey we have seen that many families feel a little overwhelmed. In response to this we have created 'Wellbeing Wednesday'. On a Wednesday afternoon use the tab below to choose an activity you can do with the whole family.
Relax and have fun!

Star Academies has recently launched StarLine, a free national helpline to provide parents with home education advice while schools are partially closed. StarLine offers parents tips and techniques from qualified teachers, education and parenting experts, and suggests online resources to help their children learn at home. It covers all areas of the curriculum and all stages of education, as well as family wellbeing, children’s behaviour, and SEND. The helpline is open Sunday–Friday and all calls are confidential.
