Making and evaluating a sandwich
Children to take part in an interactive demonstration by the teacher/parent on how to make a sandwich. Whilst making the sandwich, talk through the skills being used (cutting, spreading), ingredients (bread, fillings, butter) and the equipment being used (knife).

Children to make a simple sandwich using their favourite ingredients. Half the sandwich – healthy filling such as cucumber, half, not so healthy, such as jam.
Children to eat the sandwich and then complete the ‘evaluation sheet’. Use the 'senses' word mat to help you describe your sandwich.
