Hello to the parents and children in 2SC! My name is Miss Choudhury and I have been based at Hall Green Infant school since 2015 and have worked in various year groups from Nursery through to Year 2. I am very excited to have joined the Year 2 team this year as a class teacher.
My favourite subjects are Maths, History and RE. I enjoy travelling to different countries to experience their culture, like visiting historical sites and love tasting a variety of local cuisines. I have been teaching for 9 years and have successfully aided children in becoming independent and confident learners. I am really excited to be working with 2SC this year!
2SC had a fantastic fun filled and exciting Autumn 2! We looked at our Aspiration ‘Achieve our Best’ where the children independently identified an area they wanted to improve on and then discussed what they will need to do to make that improvement.
Many parents joined our Writing Workshop where they helped us to write the ending to our own version of Pattan’s Pumpkin. This story was linked to our topic on India which we all enjoyed learning about and everyone loved tasting the scrumptious Indian food. We then ended our topic with the Indian Bazaar – we all dressed up in traditional Indian clothes, danced to Indian music and bought delicious food including the kulfi we had made with our rupees! What an amazing experience we all had!
Everyone loved taking part in the ‘Christmas Jumper Day’ where we all donated money to a worthy cause - ‘Save the Children’. This charity ensures children are kept safe and healthy.
Celebrating Christmas was a fantastic end to a brilliant term. We participated in many activities such as making calendars, Christmas cards, rehearsing and then performing our Carol Concert to our parents and carers and we were so excited when Father Christmas made an appearance at our Christmas party!
