Welcome to 2EG!
We have had a fantastic start to the school year and are already looking forward to all of the exciting things still to come in year 2!

My name is Miss Greathead.  I came here to school as a child, so I am very excited to be returning to Hall Green Infant School as a teacher working with the Year 2 team!   I have been a teacher for the past 3 years and have worked in 2 different primary schools in Birmingham.   My aim is to develop my fabulous class into inquisitive and aspirational learners.

My favourite subjects to teach are science and history. I love to learn about how our world works and how it has changed over time. Outside of school, my hobbies include lifting weights in the gym and skiing!

Autumn 2 in 2EG

We have had a fantastic half term in 2EG! We have thoroughly enjoyed our topic comparing India to Birmingham. We enjoyed tasting delicious foods from India, as well as attending the Indian Bazaar! We ate the kulfi that we made ourselves, wore Indian clothes, danced and had lots of fun!

As well as our topic on India, we had Aspirations Day where we thought about how to achieve our best. We also had a writing workshop. Lots of our parents came to help us finish writing our stories based on the book Pattan's Pumpkin.
We celebrated Children in Need by wearing something red, white or blue to school. We worked in groups to make our own puppet show about Pudsey Bear before swapping classes and performing our shows to each other!
Many of us were very lucky as our grandparents came to school for lunch! We got to sit on a special table together and share a delicious meal with our grandparents and friends!
In Autumn 2 we celebrated Christmas! We took part in lots of activities such as: making Christmas cards, making calendars, designing headbands for the Christmas Concert, performing in the concert and meeting Father Christmas! We have had a wonderful half term and are looking forward to all the exciting things that will be happening in Spring!
