Miss Tipler has been working really hard over the last few months to develop a school garden where children can grow and cultivate a range of plants and food products. This will help them to develop a range of skills and knowledge and gain a much more in-depth understanding and greater appreciation of where food comes from.
A HUGE THANK YOU to Jon Austin, whose son is in RBL, and his colleagues for giving up a whole day free of charge to really get our School Garden Project kick started by preparing the land and building the raised beds. Jon’s expertise in garden maintenance and landscaping has helped to transform the garden. You can find out more about Jon’s services at www.i-gardening.co.uk.
Another big THANK YOU needs to be said to Miss Tipler who has been busy leading on this project and spending many hours not only making many phone calls but also in her wellies moving tons of earth and bark chippings. She was very well supported by a super team of staff who all gave up their own time to help with moving the soil and preparing the raised beds for planting. A special thanks to the following members of staff for helping Miss Tipler with this very important project. Thanks to Miss Freestone, Ms Thomas, Mrs Williams, Miss Jones, Miss Goulding Mrs Town and Mrs Wilcox.
