Parents' Lunches

It has been a real pleasure welcoming parents to share a school meal with their children.  Throughout the year, on separate ocassions, the parents of children in each year group have been invited to come to school during the lunch hour and eat with their child. We are really proud of the quality of our school dinners and the good manners of our children at lunchtimes and are sure that parents who have attended on these ocassions would agree that lunchtimes at HGIS are great!

Reception Visit Woodgate Valley Country Park!

As part of our topic on minibeasts, all three Reception classes visited Woodgate Valley Country Park.  We were shown round by rangers Teresa and Sue, who helped us hunt for minibeasts and dip for stream animals.  We had a fantastic time and learned such a lot about minibeasts and their habitats.  It was exciting taking part in such a hands on trip and our excellent behaviour meant we really got the most out of the day!  Have a look at our photos and video clips to see for your self what a fantastic time we had!

We enjoyed celebrating Vaisakhi

We had a fantastic time celebrating Vaisakhi at School.  Everyone came to school in the best party clothes and looked fantastic.  We held a special assembly where each year group showed the rest of the school what work they had learned about Vaisakhi.  We even had some young people from King Edwards School to tell us more about Vaisakhi and they did some wonderful performances, including, drumming, dancing, speaking and even martial arts.  They were just BRILLIANT. Some of them even came to Hall Green Infant School, when they were younger, but that was a long time ago! Year 1 even got to work with them during a workshop after the assembly.  Come and see us and them in action!!!

Y2 Football Festival

In April representatives from each of the Y2 classes went to Yardley Wood playing fields to participate in a football festival, organised by Aston Villa football club.  The children had a great time, espeically as the rain stayed away.  They all joined in brilliantly and did Hall Green Infant School proud.  Well done to all involved!!
