Eco-Warriors meet local MP!
On Friday 20th May 2011 Miss Seera and Miss Freestone took the Environment Committee to meet our local MP Roger Godsiff. We were kindly invited by Mrs Burden and Christian Aid and we had a great time!
The Christian Aid supporters told us how lucky we are in this country to have clean water and how climate change is having a devastating affect on lots of countries less well off than us. We talked about how this worried us and asked Roger Godsiff what he could do to help. The Eco-Committee asked Roger Godsiff, MP, lots of probing questions about the environment. For example, Mia asked him why the council don't recycle plastic from schools. David asked why children have to pay for public transport on school trips as this was a more environmentally friendly way to travel and should be encouraged. Inderpal asked Mr Godsiff to look into our problems with dangerous parking outside our school. Miss Seera and Miss Freestone were very impressed with the children, they certainly gave our MP something to think about! Well done Eco-Warriors!
