After weeks of learning about Pirates we finally met Captain Henry!
He showed us how to be a good pirate and we went on an adventure to find lots of treasure!
It was lots of fun and we used our clever minds to tell him about adjectives, compass directions and
count in Tens with his fun shark game
We were really excited and thanked Captain Henry for his wonderful company.
In the afternoon we made lots of pirate accessories: hats, parrots, eye patches and jewels.
The best part was making a treasure chest and finding a way to add a hinge for the lid.
We took them home to put our own secret treasures in!
As part of our SET week, the children were involved in a science workshop called 'Science in a Suitcase'.
The children were enraptured to find out and explore the science behind bubbles, thanks to our super visitor!
Afterwards they had the opportunity to investigate a range of resources including:
fountains in a bottle, glow in the dark objects, concave mirrors, heat sensitive pads, balancing objects and much more!
Throughout all the acitivities the children were asking themselves:
How does this happen?
Why does this happen?
Try talking to your child about some of the things they really enjoyed.
As part of our Autumn Topic on Dinosaurs, we had a lovely lady come and tell us about fossils found from millions of years ago.
We all got to dig like a real Paleontologist!
We found teeth, skulls, claws and foot prints.
